Terms and Conditions Festina Lente

We warmly welcome you to our B&B Festina Lente and ask you to familiarize yourself with our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
Where Festina Lente is mentioned in these Terms and Conditions, this jointly refers to Robby Merckx and Veerle Piedfort, who operate the B&B.

1. GENERAL
1.1 These Terms and Conditions apply to all guests of Festina Lente.
1.2 By making a booking request or reservation, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
1.3 Check-in is from 16:00 to 21:00, check-out is from 08:00 to 11:00. Exceptions can be arranged upon request. No refunds are made for early departure.
1.4 Smoking is not allowed indoors or in the rooms. Smoking outdoors is permitted, provided it does not disturb other guests. To prevent fire hazards and keep the premises clean, please dispose of all cigarette butts in the ashtrays and ensure they are fully extinguished.
1.5 Pets are allowed on request. If permitted, guests are asked not to allow pets on the beds and not to leave them unattended. A fee of €15 per night applies for the stay of your pet at our B&B.
1.6 Guests may park their cars on the private parking area next to the street. Parking is always at the guest’s own risk.
1.7 The owners of Festina Lente may deny access to the accommodation or terminate the stay of guests who violate the Terms and Conditions or behave inappropriately, without prior explanation and without refund of any accommodation costs.
1.8 Festina Lente reserves the right to modify the Terms and Conditions. The version in effect at the time of your visit or stay is binding.

2. RESERVATION AND CONFIRMATION
2.1 A booking request or reservation can be made by phone, in writing, via email, or through our website.
2.2 The reservation is only confirmed once you have received confirmation from us and the deposit has been paid.

3. PAYMENT
3.1 The deposit amounts to 30%. Once the deposit is received, the reservation is confirmed. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 4 weeks before arrival.
3.2 For reservations made within 4 weeks of arrival, the total amount of the stay must be paid immediately.

4. CANCELLATION
4.1 For cancellations more than 12 weeks before arrival, 15% of the rental amount is due.
4.2 For cancellations less than 12 weeks before arrival, 30% of the rental amount is due.
4.3 For cancellations less than one month before arrival, the full rental amount is due.
4.4 In case of no-show, the full rental amount is due.
4.5 Depending on the reason for cancellation, timing, and availability in the booking calendar, Festina Lente may, at its discretion and without obligation, allow a shift of the stay in consultation with the guest to avoid a loss for the guest.
4.6 We recommend taking out adequate travel and cancellation insurance.

5. FORCE MAJEURE
5.1 In the event of force majeure, such as war, strikes, technical failures, natural disasters, extreme weather, or the death of one of the owners or immediate family, Festina Lente may temporarily suspend or cancel the reservation. In such cases, we will do our best to provide alternative accommodation. If you do not wish to use this, any amounts already paid will be refunded.

6. LIABILITY
6.1 Your stay at the accommodation is entirely at your own risk. Guests are always responsible for their own safety and that of fellow guests. Parents or guardians are fully responsible for minors.
6.2 Festina Lente is not liable for damage suffered by the guest or third parties during the stay, except in the case of gross negligence or intentional misconduct by the operators. Guests indemnify Festina Lente against claims by third parties that are not the result of such gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
6.3 Festina Lente is not liable for technical failures or disturbances in and around the accommodation, including but not limited to power or water outages, technical installations, or construction/roadworks in the vicinity that are not or only belatedly announced.
6.4 Festina Lente is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings of the guest.
6.5 Use of the swimming pool and terrace is entirely at your own risk. Festina Lente cannot be held liable for bodily injury or damage to personal belongings arising from their use, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct by Festina Lente.

7. DAMAGE
7.1 Guests are required to behave appropriately and use the B&B accommodation in a respectful and proper manner.
7.2 The main guest is legally responsible for any damage caused by themselves or their fellow guests to Festina Lente, the accommodation, or persons staying there.
7.3 Any damage must be reported to the owners immediately. Repair or replacement costs must be borne by the guest.
7.4 In case of lost keys, all resulting costs will be charged to the guest.
