From charming historic cities and cultural attractions to the delightful coastal towns along the Ligurian coast, there is so much to explore. Many beautiful destinations are easily accessible from our B&B, making them perfect for a day trip and a wonderful way to discover even more of this diverse region and its surroundings during your stay.
Within a radius of 100 km, the major cities of Turin and Milan are certainly worth a visit. Turin is one of the most important economic cities in Italy and is known for its huge number of car factories. Milan is Italy's second largest city, known for fashion and culture. A city with many sights and attractions.
Genoa is a wonderful destination, thanks to its rich history, magnificent architecture and unique location by the sea. The old town, with its narrow streets and hidden squares, is full of atmosphere and authenticity. Along Via Garibaldi, you can admire grand palaces that are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The harbour, views over the Mediterranean Sea and delicious Ligurian cuisine add to an unforgettable experience. Asti, the provincial capital is known for its sparkling Asti wine. It is an old town with several medieval towers and churches. The cobbled shopping and pedestrian streets, together with the arcades have a good variety of boutiques, restaurants and bars.
Most weekends there is something to do in Asti, but in September Italy's oldest palio takes place.
The other provincial capital is Alessandria: Alessandria is located in the alluvial plain Po. The city has a variety of historic buildings and shopping opportunities.
Very close are smaller towns such as Nizza Monferrato, Canelli, Acqui Terme and Alba.
Nizza Monferrato is a charming wine town in the Monferrato, known for its Barbera wine and local cuisine. The weekly market offers fresh local produce, while the antique market regularly attracts enthusiasts with antique furniture, vintage items, curiosities and handcrafted pieces. The pedestrian area with its arcades provides welcome shade on hot summer days.
Canelli and the surrounding area has many vineyards and is considered the birthplace of the bubbling Asti wine. The most unique about this town are the underground cathedrals of wine cellars that can be visited.
Acqui Terme is an old Roman wellness town where hot water gushes out of the fountains in the central square. You will find shops and nice cafes along various streets.
Alba is a medieval town with small streets and squares. The town is known for its wines and its truffle festival in October/November. In addition, the Ferrero Rocher factory is also located here, known for products such as Nutella, Mon Cheri and Ferrero Rocher.
Besides the well-known cities, we have also selected two lesser-known gems. Pavia and Vercelli may be less famous, but each has its own charm and attractions.
Pavia is a historic city in Lombardy, rich in medieval and Renaissance buildings. The city is renowned for its impressive Certosa di Pavia, a magnificent monastery complex, and its atmospheric historic centre with picturesque squares and old bridges over the River Ticino. Pavia is also a lively university city, home to one of the oldest universities in Italy. The university library houses an impressive collection of ancient manuscripts and books, making the city an important centre of culture and knowledge. Pavia is easy to reach from our B&B and is about an hour’s drive away. Thanks to its combination of history, student life and welcoming atmosphere, Pavia is a fascinating city to visit.
About a 45-minute drive from our B&B lies Vercelli, one of the oldest cities in Piedmont, situated in the fertile Po Valley. The city is known for its medieval churches, historic squares and as the centre of the famous Carnaroli rice, one of the finest varieties of rice in the world. Vercelli offers a peaceful charm and an authentic Italian atmosphere.
