Sightseeing in Piedmont
Within a radius of 100 km, the major cities of Turin and Milan are certainly worth a visit. Turin is one of the most important economic cities in Italy and is known for its huge number of car factories. Milan is Italy's second largest city, known for fashion and culture. A city with many sights and attractions.
Asti, the provincial capital is known for its sparkling Asti wine. It is an old town with several medieval towers and churches. The cobbled shopping and pedestrian streets, together with the arcades have a good variety of boutiques, restaurants and bars.
Most weekends there is something to do in Asti, but in September Italy's oldest palio takes place.
The other provincial capital is Alessandria: Alessandria is located in the alluvial plain Po. The city has a variety of historic buildings and shopping opportunities.
Very close are smaller towns such as Nizza Monferrato, Canelli, Acqui Terme and Alba.
Nizza Monferrato is a charming town in the heart of the barbarian wine region. The pedestrian zone with galleries provides the necessary shade on hot summer days.
Canelli and the surrounding area has many vineyards and is considered the birthplace of the bubbling Asti wine. The most unique about this town are the underground cathedrals of wine cellars that can be visited.
Acqui Terme is an old Roman wellness town where hot water gushes out of the fountains in the central square. You will find shops and nice cafes along various streets.
Alba is a medieval town with small streets and squares. The town is known for its wines and its truffle festival in October/November. In addition, the Ferrero Rocher factory is also located here, known for products such as Nutella, Mon Cheri and Ferrero Rocher.
